grocery boy
I had a car full of groceries the other day. I thought about having Zach help me bring them in. I said, "I need a strong man to help me lift all of these heavy groceries!" Zach was my man! While moms cannot impart masculinity to boys, we can help them grow to be strong, confident men. Although we as moms sometimes want to keep our sweet little boys by our side and protect them and snuggle on them, it is SERIOUSLY IMPORTANT that we let them go and allow them to be one of the men. That is the way they learn how to be a man and how to act like a man--and how to protect a woman he loves! There is nothing quite like having your little boy be a rough tough boy and then come back to love and protect his mom.

Hi Amy! I will have to put you on my blog roll too! We so enjoyed having you and Brian come speak here...wish we lived closer! I really enjoyed this post. It is so hard imagining Brogan growing up, so thank you for this important reminder. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Amy, I just recently saw this blog. It was great. My husband, Eddie recently attended the Church Plant session at West Ridge. (2008) This blog entry really "touched home" for me since we, also have 2 wonderful boys who remind me that they are not babies! I know they'll be great men who love God, but their childhood is going far too fast for me. :) Keep writing. --Davida
